Education

AIS is made up of many kinds of people. Some of those people have for the first time experienced how it is like to be in an international school. Some of those people were in a Vietnamese school before, where the way of teaching is very different than from AIS. What We Love About AIS

Many students love AIS for many different reasons. We are all different, and unique people, and therefore look at things differently. Here is a video about about students, saying "what they love about AIS."

Even though we are all different people, are answers were very similar or the same. Maybe that's because we live in the same environment.

Social Studies and Science

Every day, we have 7 subjects. In seventh and eighth periods, we have social studies and science.

In Social Studies, we learn about history of many countries, like Russia, China and Egypt. We also discuss about environmental and economical issues. A lot of times, we have to discuss with our classmates about a topic. In social studies, we do a lot of posters, projects and quizzes. Mr. Blake teaches the topic in many ways.  Sometimes at the beginning of the class, we do a journal.  Social studies class like a combination of English, Science, and History combined into one class.

In science class, we mostly take many notes and many diagrams to learn about our topic. We also watch some interesting videos about life science. The most interesting parts of Life Science are experiments and pizza prize. Experiments are really fun to do because you can actually be in a lab and do stuff, like planting a flower. The pizza prize is a competition between all the classes. The class that does the most homework in a quarter will get a pizza at the end of the quarter.

Below are some interviews of our social studies and science teachers.

Lunch

Every day, we have seven subjects. In fifth period, we have lunch. This period doesn't count as a subject.

After all the hard working morning we had in school, lunch it’s a time to release all the stress we may have. In lunch, we eat, obviously, then some students go to play basketball, some go to class maybe to finish their homework, or to go to redo their missing assignment, some go to the library to have a quick nap to relax etc.  The time of lunch is 50 minutes, which is long enough for us to have our mine to relax in order to study the rest of the period. Lunch is a time that every school had.

Math

Every day, we have 7 subjects. In sixth period, we have math.

In math period, we study a lot of useful leson that will help us in the future. Like the Exponential stuff, it helps me to know how much a thing increase. Like if a population of a country suddenly increases, I can draw a graph with help me to know how much it increase. We just finish a mindmap project, and many students have a lot of creative mind map. When we walked in Ms. Brennan room, the rooms is like full of creative knowledge, it’s like Art that mix with Math.
